This is an upgraded version of the T440 trinocular microscope which includes a darkfield condenser so you can work with both brightfield and darkfield illumination for specialized applications such as blood counts. A great choice for schools, clinics, and veterinary practices, it has all of the features needed for detailed inspection of whole-mount or sectioned specimens including cells and bacteria. Precision mechanics and high-quality achromatic optics provide reliability, and the enamel-coated metal frame is designed to endure heavy use. LED illumination provides a cool, energy-efficient light-source which prolongs the viability of heat-sensitive specimens. The trinocular head has a top-mounted port for mounting a camera offering the ability to record images or stream live video to a computer.
A range of eyepieces and objective lenses are available to vary magnification ranges, with possible upgrades for enhanced optical correction. More importantly, this model is compatible with many of our advanced illumination kits such as darkfield condensers and phase-contrast kits. These expand the functionality to handle blood and fluid analysis, as well as enhanced detail of cellular structures.
To customize the microscope to your viewing comfort, the eyepiece spacing can be easily adjusted using a precision Siedentopf mechanism. A diopter is available on the left ocular tube to compensate for asymmetry, and the ocular tubes are angled at 30° to comfortably accommodate a seated position without neck strain. The head can also be rotated 360° to view from different positions. Various eyepieces can be used to increase the overall optical magnification. The trinocular photo-port uses a height-adjustable 23mm tube for mounting cameras with compensating lenses which can be adjusted to match focus with the eyepieces.
The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. Additional 16X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 1600X with 8 unique levels. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy.
The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for examination of specimen slides. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level. An adjustable height limit can be set to prevent damage to the lenses and specimens while focusing.
The LED sub-stage lighting provides cool, energy-efficient illumination. The light-source is daylight balanced to produce natural colors for imaging. The Abbe light condenser has a high 1.25 numerical aperture for oil-immersion, and an iris diaphragm to optimize contrast and depth-of-field. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion height adjustment for precision control.
Darkfield
A dry darkfield condenser is included for darkfield observation using the 40X objective lens or lower. Darkfield observation will provide contrast in otherwise indistinguishable objects by highlighting changes in refractive index. This is particularly useful for observing live cells including blood analysis. With a 0.9 numerical aperture, the condenser works with non-immersion lenses. Two centering screws allow you to properly center the condenser for optimal contrast.
Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 1.2MP USB2.0 camera. The ultra-sensitive back-illuminated sensor is designed to excel at low-light imaging, making it ideal for fluorescence and darkfield microscopy. A 0.37X reduction lens is included to capture more of the microscope's field-of-view. Our professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of our software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
