>> How to Buy A Microscope

SELECTING A COMPOUND MICROSCOPE is as easy as 1-2-3...

Select the type of microscope you need or your industry

Select by type of microscope - Our Compound Microscope Assortment has been divided into major categories to make your shopping easy.

These categories include:

Brightfield, Darkfield, Phase-Contrast, Inverted and others

Choose a business application or industry to find the right compound microscope. Major industries or applicatins include:

Veterinary, Laboratory Use, Teaching, Metallurgical, Gemology and many others

Select a Magnification

AmScope offers an industry-leading selection of magnifications. All products are in-stock and usually ship the same day ordered

Select a Camera

We offer a wide variety of Cameras for every application - from student to professional use:

Select a type of camera - Eyepiece, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 - to name the most popular choices

Choose the Megapixels of the camera - the higher the megapixel count on a camera sensor the greater the amount of detail that can be captured in an image

The Higher the Magnification - The More Detail You'll See

Magnification 40x
Magnification 1000x
Magnification 2500x

Magnification is the ability of your microscope to make small objects seem larger. As the magnification increases the area being viewed will be decrease is size but the detail of the area being viewed will improve.

Amscope microscopes come with multiple magnifications to aid you in finding the proper magnification for viewing each specimen.

Camera Connection Types

When comparing 2.0 and 3.0 there are few major differences. First the transfer rates. USB 2.0 offers transfer rates of 480 Mbps and USB 3.0 offers transfer rates of 4.8 Gbps - that's 10 times faster.

Camera Resolution

The most important factor in ensuring successful microscopic imaging is choosing the appropriate optics and camera for your application that gives you more data and higher image quality. When selecting a microscope camera, it is best to base your decision on the most important requirements for your microscopic observation.

Key Features

  • 40X to 640X expanded magnification range using a quadruple lens turret and additional 16X eyepieces for seven unique settings.
  • A highly economical, compact inverted microscope for transmitted-light biological applications.
  • The inverted format provides a stable platform for Petri dishes and slides.
  • The powerful 50W halogen overhead illuminator provides bright light.
  • The trinocular photo port provides a dedicated interface for mounting a camera.
  • Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 8MP USB 2.0 camera. Professional microscopy software for Windows and Mac provide tools for image processing, measuring, and more.

This is a professional, high-power plan inverted microscope providing crisp, clear, sharp images. It allows you to observe directly specimen in culture flasks and/or petri dishes. It comes with plan optics and a 30° inclined, 360° swiveling sliding head. Its trinocular port enables you to add photographic or video capability. It is a perfect instrument for clinics, vets, doctors and students to view living biological tissue cultures in dishes and examine specimens in liquid from the bottom of containers.

Optics

The quadruple objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels. This allows you to efficiently move through magnifications from low to high. Additional 16X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 640X with 7 unique levels. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected for superior optical corrections and transmittance, with planatic flat-field correction to provide edge-to-edge sharpness.
