This facilitates a convenient and rapid microscopic examination of the cellular elements in each specimen.
To apply the sample to the chamber, place a drop of well-mixed sediment (using Quick-Prep, a tube and pipette system that isolates 1mL of urine sediment for microscopic examination) into the scalloped area of a numbered chamber on the slide. Capillary action provides uniform distribution of sediment into the viewing chamber. Each chamber has overflow wells for excess urine to prevent cross contamination. Individual slides and specimens can be identified by marking the appropriate numbers on the extreme left and right side of the unit with your own identifying code using a pencil or other marking device.
