>> How to Buy A Microscope

SELECTING A COMPOUND MICROSCOPE is as easy as 1-2-3...

Select the type of microscope you need or your industry

Select by type of microscope - Our Compound Microscope Assortment has been divided into major categories to make your shopping easy.

These categories include:

Brightfield, Darkfield, Phase-Contrast, Inverted and others

Choose a business application or industry to find the right compound microscope. Major industries or applicatins include:

Veterinary, Laboratory Use, Teaching, Metallurgical, Gemology and many others

Select a Magnification

AmScope offers an industry-leading selection of magnifications. All products are in-stock and usually ship the same day ordered

Select a Camera

We offer a wide variety of Cameras for every application - from student to professional use:

Select a type of camera - Eyepiece, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 - to name the most popular choices

Choose the Megapixels of the camera - the higher the megapixel count on a camera sensor the greater the amount of detail that can be captured in an image

The Higher the Magnification - The More Detail You'll See

Magnification 40x
Magnification 1000x
Magnification 2500x

Magnification is the ability of your microscope to make small objects seem larger. As the magnification increases the area being viewed will be decrease is size but the detail of the area being viewed will improve.

Amscope microscopes come with multiple magnifications to aid you in finding the proper magnification for viewing each specimen.

Camera Connection Types

When comaring 2.0 and 3.0 there are few major differences. First the transfer rates. USB 2.0 offers transfer rates of 480 Mbps and USB 3.0 offers transfer rates of 4.8 Gbps - that's 10 times faster.

Camera Resolution

The most important factor in ensuring successful microscopic imaging is choosing the appropriate optics and camera for your application that gives you more data and higher image quality. When selecting a microscope camera, it is best to base your decision on the most important requirements for your microscopic observation.

Key Features

  • The inverted format is a stable, ergonomic platform for cell cultures, multi-well plates, and larger specimen containers.
  • Five plan-achromatic objective lenses and two sets of eyepieces provide eight unique magnifications ranging from 40X to 1200X
  • The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates certain optical errors when using filters and other in-line components, ensuring highly-precise images.
  • Specialized 10X, 20X, and 40X objective lenses are included for phase-contrast applications, further improved by the fully-customizable Koehler illumination system.
  • Includes a 9MP USB 2.0 camera and specialized microscopy software for PC, Mac, and Linux

The IN480T provides high-resolution optics and a versatile illumination system in a stable, ergonomic design for observing cell cultures and other biological and chemical specimens. The inverted form accommodates larger specimen containers, with multiple specimen templates and mechanical stage controls to improve workflow. High-resolution optics and phase-contrast capability maximize contrast and clarity to ensure high quality images.

The viewing head has a 45° incline and Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment for flexibility and comfort. The trinocular format provides a dedicated photo-port for mounting a microscopy camera for capturing photos or videos.

The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates optical errors when using filters and other in-line components, ensuring highly-precise images. Five brightfield objective lenses and two sets of eyepieces provide a wide magnification range from 40X to 1200X, with plan-achromatic corrections for high resolution, accurate colors, and edge-to-edge sharpness. Additionally, three phase-ring equipped objective lenses can be used for phase-contrast observation.

The Koehler transmitted illumination system consists of a centerable 30W halogen lamp, a field lens with iris, and a centerable, height-adjustable condenser with iris. The ability to center the lamp and condenser, along with the field and aperture diaphragms, allow for highly-efficient, optimized illumination for maximum resolution. Along with height adjustment, the condenser can be swung out of the light path. A slide-in annulus board provides two centerable phase-contrast annuli, as well as an open setting which can be used with colored filters for band-isolation or color-correction.

The 9MP USB 2.0 digital camera captures still images and video, and allows you to view a live stream on your PC. With software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, it's a multi-platform imaging solution. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while capturing high-definition images. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version with limited processing features.

This microscope operates on 90-240V wide-band voltage for use in multiple international regions.
