AmScope IN480 Series Inverted Infinity-corrected Phase-contrast Trinocular Compound Microscope 40X-1500X Magnification with Koehler Illumination and 5MP CCD Camera
Key Features
- Designed for fluorescence microscopy, this microscope uses a high-power arc-lamp to cover a wide excitation range.
- The inverted format is a stable, ergonomic platform for cell cultures, multi-well plates, and larger specimen containers.
- Five plan-achromatic objective lenses and two sets of eyepieces provide nine unique magnifications ranging from 40X to 1500X
- The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates certain optical errors when using filters and other in-line components, ensuring highly-precise images.
- Specialized 10X, 20X, and 40X objective lenses are included for phase-contrast applications, further improved by the fully-customizable Koehler illumination system.
- Includes a highly-sensitive 5MP color CCD camera and specialized microscopy software for PC
The IN480T-FL provides high-resolution optics and a versatile dual-illumination system with Koehler transmitted lighting for brightfield and phase-contrast, and wide-spectrum episcopic lighting for fluorescence. The stable and ergonomic inverted form accommodates larger specimen containers, with multiple specimen templates and mechanical stage controls to improve workflow.
The viewing head has a 45° incline and Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment for flexibility and comfort. The trinocular format provides a dedicated photo-port for mounting a microscopy camera for capturing photos or videos. A sliding shutter isolates the light path when using a camera, avoiding stray light from the oculars during fluorescence imaging.
The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates optical errors when using filters and other in-line components, ensuring highly-precise images. Five brightfield objective lenses and two sets of eyepieces provide a wide magnification range from 40X to 1500X, with plan-achromatic corrections for high resolution, accurate colors, and edge-to-edge sharpness. Additionally, three phase-ring equipped objective lenses can be used for phase-contrast observation.
A 100W mercury-vapor episcopic illuminator provides wide-spectrum lighting for fluorescence excitation. Two filter blocks can be mounted and alternated during observation. Blue and green excitation blocks are included to cover a wide range of common fluorophores.
The Koehler transmitted illumination system consists of a centerable 30W halogen lamp, a field lens with iris, and a centerable, height-adjustable condenser with iris. The ability to center the lamp and condenser, along with the field and aperture diaphragms, allow for highly-efficient, optimized illumination for maximum resolution. Along with height adjustment, the condenser can be swung out of the light path. A slide-in annulus board provides two centerable phase-contrast annuli, as well as an open setting which can be used with colored filters for band-isolation or color-correction.
The highly-sensitive 5MP color CCD camera captures low-light still images and video, and allows you to view a live stream on your PC. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while capturing high-definition images.
This microscope operates on 90-240V wide-band voltage for use in multiple international regions.

Mercury HBO lamps produce a wide spectrum of wavelengths, including ultraviolet. While this fluorescent light-source can excite fluorophores throughout its entire spectrum, there are peak wavelengths with optimal output. The included filter blocks will accommodate a wide range of fluorophores, although the nature of mercury arc lamps limits effectiveness outside of the peak wavelengths.
