AmScope MU Series 2.0MP USB 3.0 Back-illuminated Color CMOS C-Mount Microscope Camera with Reduction Lens

SKU: MU203-BI

Availability: In Stock

Regular price $508.99 $423.99

Key Features

  • High-performance Back-illuminated 2MP USB3.0 Microscope Camera for Low-light and Brightfield
  • Multi-platform software solutions
  • Includes calibration slide for on-screen measurements

With extraordinary sensitivity and a maximum framerate of 125fps, the MU203-BI provides high-definition imaging for low-light applications, including fluorescence. Using a cutting-edge 2MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor with an incredible 2350mV sensitivity (1/30s), high gain-levels can be used for highly-responsive realtime video. The inverted structure of the back-illuminated CMOS sensor places the photo-sensitive substrate of the sensor in front of the electronic components, further improving light-gathering ability.

Using a 1/2-inch format sensor, this camera is best-used with a 0.5X reduction lens or 0.5X C-mount photo-ports. A 0.5X reduction-lens for 23mm ports is included, along with 30mm and 30.5mm adapters.

With software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, this camera package is a multi-platform imaging solution. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. A measurement calibration slide is included to properly calibrate the software's scale for use with the array of linear and geometric measurement tools. With the ability to calibrate scales at multiple magnifications, the software can be used for multi-level inspection. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while simultaneously capturing high-definition images. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version of the software which can capture video and still images, and includes limited processing features.

Back-illuminated CMOS

The inverted structure of the back-illuminated CMOS sensor places the photo-sensitive substrate of the sensor in front of the electronic components, further improving light-gathering ability.

Photoelectric Conversion Photoelectric Conversion

In traditional CMOS, less light is gathered by the photosensitive portion of the sensor. Much of the light is blocked or reflected by the wiring surrounding the photodiode.

In back-illuminated CMOS, the substrate is essentially flipped, so more light can be absorbed, maxmizing each pixel's efficiency.

Sensitivity

Photoelectric Conversion

Sensitivity: Very High (2350mV)

The sensor's sensitivity is measured by the amount of photonic energy it is able to convert into electric potential during exposure. Using a standard of 1/30th of a second, this sensor can produce up to 2350mV. Higher efficiency in light-gathering and conversion means that less light is needed to produce a viable image.
